Milorho Lodge hiking trails are located at this nature accommodation near Rustenburg in the North West province, about a 1h25 minute drive from the centre of Sandton. There’s very limited cellphone reception at the venue which is great if you’re looking to switch off and fully connect with nature.
This trail in the Magalieberg mountain range includes a variety of terrain and ecosystems which makes for a brisk and interesting walk. There are three route options – The Brown Hiking Trail at 4.7km, The Escape Route at 8km, and The Green Hiking Trail at 12.4km. Along your route, you can look forward to snapworthy gorge formations, rock pools where you can cool off on your pitstop, and the tranquil sounds of scenic waterfalls flowing.
Looking to make the most of your visit? Stay over at one of the cottages or campsite at Milorho Lodge. The farm contains historic Iron Age structures as well as flora and fauna aplenty.

Milorho Lodge hiking trails are Green Flag-approved
This hiking trail in the North West is one of the few that are formally Green Flag accredited. Green Flag is an international standard or grading process whose aim is to enhance public awareness of and confidence in hiking trails.
The accreditation system investigates and rewards well-managed and environmentally accountable trails that offer access to nature, recreation and well-marked trails in good condition, health and tourism and the many benefits trails offer local communities.
