Orlando TowersOriginally the site of a coal fired power station, the Orlando Towers have become one of the most distinctive landmarks in Soweto. After 56 years of service, the power station was shut down and the towers now act as an entertainment centre as well as the site of the world’s first bungee hump between two cooling towers.

Local company Skyriders, provide various adrenaline filled activities including a 100m bungee jump, an indoor free fall, a power swing, abseiling, rock climbing, paintball and base jumping. For the less adventurous, or for those who simply want to enjoy the view, a viewing platform is also available.

Activities at the towers are dependent on weather, particularly wind, under-18s require the consent of their parents or guardians to take part in this adventure and only those with a weight between 35kg and 115kg may bungee jump. Booking is essential for parties of six or more.

The Orlando Towers also houses Chaf Pozi, a popular shisa nyama that is known for its meat, but also caters for vegetarian and Halal patrons. Chaf Pozi frequently hosts well-known and up-and-coming local artists and DJs, and is also available for corporate events and general celebrations.
